It was a lovely day on the North End of Long Beach Island, perfect for an engagement session! The autumn afternoon offered 70 degree temperatures with sunny conditions and just enough pretty clouds. Best of all it offered a special surprise.
Little did we know when Dan & Beckie’s first engagement session was cancelled due to poor weather conditions, we would have scored such a beautiful day. It could not have been planned better.
The meet and greet lead straight into the portrait session. I could see the love flowing from the couple right out of the gate. Dan’s easy-going personality and Beckie’s great smile, pretty much every time Dan spoke, made it easy to capture their love for each other.
The first location fit the couple’s preference for greenery. We then took a drive over to the beach. With the sun lowering in the sky, the beach was a beautiful backlit setting. We worked on a few different poses in different spots. At all of them, you can see and feel the connection between these lovebirds!
As the golden hour faded, our session drew to a close. But, unbelievably out of the ocean came the rising full moon. As if it were planned, we took advantage of this spectacular opportunity. Utilizing my Profoto lighting system, I was able to light the scene.
Dan & Beckie, you guys mean so much to me! Thank you for trusting me with not only capturing your proposal, but your engagement and (coming sooner than we think) your wedding!
I can’t wait for their wedding in May at the Brant Beach Yacht Club on LBI.
