The Sea Shell Wedding on Long Beach Island | Melani + Jake

A beachfront wedding on Long Beach Island is the perfect place to celebrate your special day. Melani & Jake chose the areas best beachfront venue, The Sea Shell Resort and Beach Club.

Their Story

It all started in Calculus class at Rutgers University where Melani & Jake first met. Jake sat in front of her, and his first words to Melani were, "Are you always this organized?" Three years later, they had their first date at Water Street in Toms River, NJ. It all led up to this beautiful wedding day on May 3rd, 2019.

The Proposal

The couple loves the beach and enjoys hunting for sea shells especially on the empty sands of winter. One particularly warm Saturday in February they enjoyed breakfast at one of their favorite spots. After eating, Melani decided they should look for shells near their old apartment in Surf City. After 30 minutes of no luck with shells, Jake got down on one knee and proposed!

Getting Ready

At the Sea Shell Resort in Beach Haven Melani & Jake had separate rooms . Melani’s was a beautiful beachfront suite. It offered a comfortable light and airy feel with a great view of the ocean.

The Ceremony

What a great way to get married… at the Sea Shell on a private beach in Long Beach Island! The ceremony was exactly what Melani & Jake wanted… friends and family together for a relaxing celebration. The set up at the “Shell” was like a destination wedding!

The Reception at The Sea Shell Resort & Beach Club on LBI

The beautiful cocktail hour was loaded with all kinds of seafood all under the “Shell’s” Tiki Hut. The scallop ceviche and shrimp cocktail were crowd favorites. The drinks and social lead right into an evening full of dancing and fun.
